I grew up in the Catholic church and never understood that Jesus was “the way” not the church. Catholicism never pointed me to the truth of Scripture alone…to Jesus Christ alone …with faith in Him alone...by grace alone. After 34 years of living a life of “works”, God graciously drew me to Himself in 1994. What a gift! As I have looked back over my life, God’s sovereign grace to me even before I claimed Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior is very evident. I have now been married for 27 years to my wife, Laura. Without a doubt the Lord has used our marriage often as the proving ground to conform both of us more to the image of His Son. While the circumstances in this process have been difficult at times, it has all proven to be for His glory and our good. Sweet! Over these years Laura and I have been blessed with three children (Jace, Sean and Katie) and now two daughters-in-law (Jenny and Candice). They are all yet another evidence of His grace to me.
We know that God is the one who will bring growth to His church both spiritually and numerically, and we know that we have been called to be a part of His work by “making disciples”. That simple truth is what CCC is all about! I greatly appreciate the opportunity the Lord has given me to serve Him by serving our pastor and the body of Christ here at CCC.
