 Our names are Tim & Melissa Drake, and we are the middle school youth group leaders at Crossroad Community Church in Shelbyville, Indiana. We have been married about 28 years and have a daughter named Natalie Renee. Both of us come from homes where we were raised by loving Christian parents who taught us good morals and the value strong family ties. Melissa and I accepted Christ as our Savior when we were young, and our growth in Christ was formed by the caring adult Christian leaders who influenced our lives during those early years. Our goal is to provide the same type of positive teaching influence for the youth that is biblically sound and based on God’s word. “All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for rebuking, for correcting, for training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.” (2 Tim. 3:16). I have been involved with working with young people ever since I was in high school. I have coached boy's baseball, and I have been coaching girl's basketball at the Shebyville middle school for over 15 years. By being involved as a coach at the Shelbyville middle school, it has also allowed me to be a part of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes where I'm the huddle coach. To God be the glory for all the gifts He has given to us. The Lord has blessed Melissa and me with the opportunity to be involved with raising up the youth at Crossroad Community Church. We would urge the parents to encourage their children to attend our youth group, and we invite the students to come and check us out on Wednesday evenings from 6:30-8:00 PM. |
