“He leads me beside still waters; He restores my soul;
He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.”
The Biblical Counseling Ministry of Crossroad
Found within the popular 23rd Psalm is the answer to life’s troubles. The answer is not found in principles, pills or therapy groups, but rather in a relationship with Jesus Christ, who is the Good Shepherd. (John 10:11) At Crossroad Community Church, we believe that Jesus Christ has the power to heal any hurt, to overcome any addiction, to repair any relationship, to change any bad habit, and to rescue any life from the damages of sin. Jesus told us, “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” (John 10:10b) This truth is a promise, and Jesus always comes through on His promises!
The Bible records the stories of many people who cried out to God for HELP! (For instance, see Palms 18:6 and 79:9) They discovered that God “is an ever present help in times of trouble.” (Psalm 46:1) God encourages His children, “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10) What a promise! Based on his track record and his promise of help, we can say confidently, “The Lord is my Helper; I will not be afraid of what man can to do me.” (Hebrews 13:6)
