I was born and raised here in Shelby County and I am a 1997 graduate of Southwestern High School.
I attended church all the time as a child with my parents, but I never really liked it. It was just something I was supposed to do. I spent most of my childhood knowing about God and knowing right and wrong but didn't really understand the whole story of Jesus and his death for our salvation. I was about 18 or 19 when everything seemed to come together after lots of reading, praying, and seeking. I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal savior, made a public profession of my faith and was baptized by pastor Phil Farnsley from Mt. Auburn Christian Church. Over the next several years, I was in and out of church for a while but once Amy and I married, we decided to look for a church together. We attended Greenwood Christian Church for about 2 years while we lived in Greenwood and then once we moved back to Shelby County we wanted to find something closer to home. We were sort of only half-heartedly looking for another church until a life event helped us to realize how much we needed a church family for support and encouragement. We needed something more than just a place to go every Sunday morning and then leave.
Pastor Andy married Amy and I in 2002, so Crossroad was one of the first places we attended. We were greeted by many warm smiles and an outpouring of kindness on our first Sunday here. After that, it didn't take long to realize this was the place we had been looking for. We have been attending for about 4 years and it's a pleasure to serve such a great church body and be a part of this family. It is evident that CCC "is all about Him"
